Silver Lake Invitational

After taking third at last week's Shawnee County Classic, Seaman posted a runner-up finish at Saturday's Silver Lake Invitational -- one spot ahead of Rossville, the Shawnee County champ. Clay Center picked up seven champions and won the team title with 232 1/2 points, well ahead of Seaman's 160.

The Vikings didn't have a meet champion, but placed three in the finals and 11 in the top five. Posting runner-up finishes for Seaman were Cody Wasson (103), Luke McKee (112) and Jake McKee (130).

Rossville's third-place finish was somewhat bittersweet. Travis VanVleck (140) and Matt Heslet (152) captured titles for Rossville, each winning by 8-7 scores in their championship matches.

Meanwhile previous Bulldog unbeatens Cody Lambotte (125) and Josh Gentry (145), settled for third and second, respectively.

Seaman's Nick Hamilton was runner-up at 135 and Wabaunsee got second-place finishes from Jacob Simon (215) and Chris Eberwein (275). Wamego also had a pair of seconds in Cody Hartwich (140) and Matt Campbell (171).
