Walk and Roll to School Day is this Wednesday! Make sure to show up a bit early to celebrate walking, biking, and rolling with the SMGS family and community! We will start at the Riverside Park pavilion and make our way north on 5th street to Palmer St. and then east toward SMGS. Looking forward to everyone having a safe and fun "stampede" to school!
One week to go! SMGS will be holding our Walk and Roll to School Day events next week. The celebration will start at 7:15am at the Riverside Park pavilion. You will be escorted by members of the one and only St. Marys Police as you make your way down Palmer St. toward school! So, make sure to walk, bike, or roll over early to join the fun. Cereal Math?? Mrs.Stallbaumers 3rd grade class used cereal as their manipulatives to help build equal groups and arrays while learning multiplication this week!

SMGS had a surprise visitor today...Santa in September!! Turns out that Santa took a pitstop during his offseason to make a special delivery. Santa shared with us that his mom and dad were both teachers and his mom told him years ago that the most important tool you can share with your student is simple pencil. So, in honor of his dear mother, Lois, Santa said that he would like to provide the exceptional students of SMGS with 2000 pencils. A simple pencil can unlock so many possibilities and unleash so much potential. Thank you Santa!

SMGS teachers finished the morning professional development by having a breakout room competition. Both teams were able to escape before the hour deadline! Great team bonding after a morning of other professional development. Thank you to Breakout Bertrand for accommodating us!
Spirit week day 3 - Camo Day!!
One would think we would be blinded by all the camo today, but Hallie certainly stood out! Hallie got to make a Pawsitive Call Home today because she stepped up when a para in her class was absent and Hallie then filled an important roll for her classmate. Hallie guided this classmate through reading, testing, and independent work showing kindness, patience, and responsibility. What a great example you are setting Hallie! Go Bears!
