This year, KASB is excited to introduce Board Clerk Appreciation Day on Jan. 28! Board clerks play a vital role in keeping districts running smoothly, supporting board operations and ensuring things stay organized.
Board clerks are often the behind-the-scenes anchors of a district — keeping records accurate, supporting board operations, preparing meeting materials and ensuring everything runs smoothly from month to month. Their organization, expertise and steady leadership make a tremendous difference for local boards and school communities.

Shiloh got to make a Pawsitive Bear call home today! Shiloh has done a great job in reading! He has gone from reading basic sounds to reading 27 WORDS in a minute!! He has been practicing and working so hard to get better. We are so proud of you Shiloh!!

Congrats to all of our spelling bee finalists in our SMGS Spelling Bee this morning! Peter K. took 2nd place, Austin P. won 3rd, and our Spelling Bee champion is Carson W.! Carson and Peter will move on to the Pottawatomie County Spelling Bee on Feb 7th in Wamego. Congrats again to all our spellers!
January is School Board Appreciation month and yesterday at the board meeting, we got to say “Thank You” to our wonderful school board members for the job they do. We appreciate all they do not only for St Marys Grade School, but for our district, employees, and students as well!

Kevin made a Pawsitive Call home today! Kevin has been working on his handwriting all year. Today, he showed responsibility by using his best handwriting yet on his spelling test without any prompting!!! Keep up the super work Kevin!!!
Congratulations to our very first Pawsitive Bear call home in 2026--Bennett Medley. Bennett's teacher, Mrs. Stallbaumer, reports that Bennett has shown great responsibility by staying focused during his Reading Plus lessons. He has read over 6,000 words during his reading lessons. Keep up the great work Bennett!!
